Freud: Psychoanalytic Theory of Personality
The psychoanalytic theory of personality was formulated by Sigmund Freud (1858–1939). This theory is based on some preconceptions about human nature. Human behavior is determined by external factors and such behaviors are indiscriminate, unchangeable, isotropic and knowable. Human nature is influenced in a general way by preconceptions like perfection, body formation and non-alignment. Freud has explained them with the following classification ---

Freud's psychoanalytic theory is used for dream analysis, parapraxis, and psychiatry.
