The meaning of Growth and development

 Growth means -  Growth has a deep relation with maturity, due to the effect of heredity, the biological change that happens in a creature is called Vardhan or maturity.  Growth is a change in body size, length and weight of a person.  Vardhan can be inspected and measured.  Its form is structural.  Such as the measurement of the length of a child, or the measurement of weight.

The meaning of development - Development is a process going on throughout the life of a person.  Through this, there is a sense of various changes that are possible within the animal, which is possible to measure quantitatively, as well as changes that are not possible to measure quantitatively. The sequence of changes that occur in the full life span of a creature is called evolution  .  Development is functional, so its measurement is not possible; it goes on from birth to death.  Such as mental development, social development, moral development, emotional development etc.

बाल्यावस्था की प्रमुख विशेषताएं -   यह ६ से १२ वर्ष के बीच की अवस्था है। फ्रायड के अनुसार इसे  सुप्तावस्था के नाम से भी जानते हैं क्योंकि इस अवस्था में बालक का विकास लैंगिक प्रवृतियों की ओर से  सुप्त ( धीमा ) हो जाता है।  इसकी कुछ विशेषताएं हैं जो इस अवस्था के बालकों में पायी जाती हैं।   १.  टोली दल अथवा अपने समूह वर्ग के बालकों के साथ खेलना।  २.  इसे अनोखा काल  भी कहा जाता है क्योंकि इस अवस्था में बालक के व्यव्हार में आश्चर्य जनक परिवर्तन होते हैं जिन्हे वह  अपने मित्रो के  साथ बांटता है।   ३.  यह  वैचारिक क्रिया की अवस्था होती है।  ४ .यह  मित्थ्या परिपक्वता का काल कहलाता है।   ५.  यह खेल खेलने की आयु कही जाती है।  ६.  यह तीव्र शारीरिक क्रियाशीलता एवं अभिवृद्धि का काल है।  ७.  यह नए कौशलों एवं क्षमताओं के विकास की वृद्धि में स्वर्णिम काल है।   ८ . इसे प्रतिद्वंद्वात्मक समाजीकरण का काल भी कहा जाता है।  ९.  यह मूर्त चिंतन की अवस्था है।
