Concepts of Social Intelligence
The famous psychologist Thorndike has given three types of intelligence in this context.
- Social intelligence
- Abstract intelligence
- Concrete intelligence
Social intelligence
Social intelligence refers to such general mental ability by which a person understands and behaves with other people. People with social intelligence have a good social life and they have a reputation in the society.
According to Dever and Balersti - "Social intelligence is a type of intelligence that is inherent in a person's behavior towards other people and social relations."
Abstract Intelligence
The ability to think about abstract intelligence subjects is called abstract intelligence. In such intelligence, a person thinks through words, symbols and other idols. This type of intelligence is often found in philosophers, storytellers, mathematicians, artists and writers. .
According to Terman - "The importance of abstract intelligence is more in students than other types of intelligence. Abstract intelligence is also called theoretical intelligence."
Concrete Intelligence
Tangible intelligence refers to such a mental ability by which a person understands the importance of tangible or concrete things, thinks about them and makes them useful by changing them according to their wishes and needs. It is also called practical intelligence. The concrete intelligence is high, they later achieve success in becoming a successful engineer or a skilled craftsman.
