Intelligence Test and Mental Age

 Intelligence Test and Mental Age

The characteristics of a person's personality are detected by intelligence test .

Firstly, German psychologist William Wundt established the first psychology laboratory in Leipzig in 1879 for the measurement of intelligence.

French psychologist Alfred Binet and his partner Simon considered the basis of the measurement of intelligence to be mental functions like children's judgment, memory, logic and numerical

He designed a series of questions related to these tasks and administered them to a number of children.

William Stern first suggested the use of IQ for the measurement of intelligence

It means how old a person has become, how much is the real age till now, the intellectual development of a person is called the method in which he kept the concepts like real age and mental age.

Stern talked about mental attainment in 1912 and gave a formula to determine mental attainment.

 Mental age = Mental age / Actual age or Cronological age

Terman changed it later and devised a formula to find IQ, in which he completed multiplying by 100.

                                             IQ = Mental Age / Actual Age * 100
