 Social cognition Social cognition refers to the ways by which a person interprets and analyzes the information received about his social world, remembers them and uses them according to his needs.  According to Taylor, Peplau and Sears "The study of how a person makes inferences from social information in the environment is called social cognition. ,"   According to Reber and Reber "Social cognition focuses on how a person perceives, interprets, thinks about, and interprets the actions of others and himself."
